Adjustments and Credits
As part of the recommendations from the Stormwater Advisory Committee, several groups within the City can qualify for credits and adjustments that could reduce the stormwater fees paid for their property. There are three components to the Adjustments and Credit opportunities for the Stormwater Utility for which property owners can apply.
- User Fee Adjustments - Applies to a property owner's opportunity to address incorrect fee calculations. The City's goal is to make the process as fair and equitable as possible and recognizes that mistakes sometimes happen. If your utility bill is incorrect, the City will change it and provide you with a credit for any overcharges that your account has incurred.
- User Fee Reductions - Applies to a property owner's opportunity to receive a reduced fee based on the City compensating thru the General Fund a portion or all of the fee value. The Stormwater Advisory Committee has recommended fee reductions for charitable and faith based organizations designated as 501c3 by the IRS, and homeowners whose annual income falls under 150% of the federal Poverty Guidelines.
- User Fee Credit - Applies to a property owner that is providing some component of stormwater management service that supports the City's stormwater management services (hence, reduces the City's cost for stormwater management). There are several categories ranging from education campaigns to stormwater ponds that could qualify for credits.
